Glamping — short for glamorous camping — is all about combining the fun and freedom of camping with a few extra comforts. Think: real beds instead of sleeping bags, a roof over your head that isn’t flapping in the wind, and sometimes even your own private bathroom.
Don’t get us wrong — we love camping. The fresh air, the crackling campfires, the sense of adventure. But sometimes… we also want a comfy bed, a hot shower, and a bit of charm. That’s where glamping comes in — the sweet spot between rustic and cozy.
We’ve explored quite a few glamping sites, and truth be told, not all of them made the cut. This list includes only our absolute favourites so far — places we all personally checked out and that offer something special and are great for families.
Our criteria? Each spot had to comfortably fit at least three people, have showers close by, a playground or fun area nearby, and offer easy access to family-friendly adventures.
Here are the ones we’d go back to in a heartbeat.
A quick tip: Some glamping sites require a minimum stay of 3 nights or more — especially during high season. But here’s a little trick for a shorter stay we’ve used successfully: check out their online reservation calendar. If you spot a gap of just 1 or 2 nights between bookings, reach out to the site directly. We’ve managed to snag quite a few shorter stays this way!.
